I
lios Dive Club is having new and modern diving equipment for rent. If you do not want to bring your own diving equipment you could rent the full set for the price of 15€ per day.
Is there any extra taxes or environmental fees to be paid?
O
ur prices are already including the sales tax, however we will have to collect from you 2 € environmental fees per person per day for the egyptian government. This money is used for mooring lines and bojes, etc.
Are you using INT or DIN system?
O
ur tanks are done for both systems INT or DIN. Please let us know during check in if you are diving with the INT system.
What kind of wet suit do I need in the Red Sea?
The water temperature of the Red Sea is never below 20°C. So even in winter time (January - April) a 5mm suit is enough. In summertime the water temperature goes up to 28°C, so most of the people dive in 3mm or even a shorty.
Am I allowed to bring my under water torchlight in the plane?
Transporting an under water torchlight is generally permitted. Please disconnect the bulb from the lamp. Most of the airlines will ask you to do so and to carry the lamp in you hand luggage. The best is to check with you airline in advance.

P

Is it safe to leave the hotel for a walk?
S
teigenberger Al Dau Resort is directly located at the new pedestrian area. You could go walking about 6 km. It is surrounded by shops, cafés and bars where you could have a rest inbetween. Employees of the shops might try to convince you to come to their shop, but if you let them know that you have no interest hey will not bother you.
I have heard that some people suffer from a gippy tummy from time to time. Is it normal?
It is quite normal with the change in temperature, atmosphere, food and surroundings for some people to have the odd tummy problem for a day or so. It is a good idea to take your own medication for this just in case, but there is also pharmacies with god medication everywhere in Hurghada. As well there is a medical service in Steigenberger Al Dau Beach Hotel.
Do I really have to check in 3 hours prior to departure for my flight?
Yes, security checks are taking longer and therefore airline check-in desks are closing earlier.
Visas and Legal Papers
How long has my passport to be valid and how do I get my visa?
Y
our passport has to be still valid for at least six month the day you are leaving Egypt again. Your Visa you will get at the airport before entering the country. Either your touroperator will take care about it or you will have to buy a visa stamp at one of the money exchange counters and glue it on an empty page in your passport.
Is tipping really necessary?
Yes, it is a way of life in Egypt and as wages are generally very low, they rely heavily on them. It is expected for almost everything. HINT: Have always some small egyptian pounds on you.
